| this weekend been eating and drinking films. From bollywood thrillers and horrors to documentaries. Friday evening was for Gangster and other the 'female' with the bad voice, the movie is pretty good. And you might as well watch it. Saturday evening went off to get scared with "Darna Zaroori Hai" and I didn't much like the move. So you might as well not watch it. Sunday went to watch the diploma films of ftii students and it was more than 6 hours of all types of cinema. It was good though and some were really fabulous. Some though were so abstract that God knows if i come across the director, I will seek an explanation for sending my mind off for a toss for those 25 mins.
Anyways today is labor day and so laborers like me are allowed to rest and cherish the fact that their work is being appreciated by 'God knows whom'. So enjoy maadi. For non bengaloruus -- it's enjoy karo.
| All this beer, hard drinks, and steak is killing me. I realised that finally. Not to talk of the massive bangings that I got in the stock markets today. It's only 2 and I just had my lunch and still wouldn't mind getting drunk.
And then in such moments you realise what all wrong decisions I have been making all my life. The same wrongs my dad himself made. But then he possibly had more sense to not repent over it. For me I am still on the 'kar hi lete hai' waala stage.
Anyone and everyone who wishes to join me for some 4-5 drinks today are welcome. And if you come and can't drink and will like some cold coffee instead -- stay home.
And whiney though you tagged me and asked me to list down some 10 things i would wanna do -- i wont even start at it. The list is endless. And then wheres the surprise if some of thsoe things really happen. So fingers crossed. As always. As a loser.
| Fanaa is the Sufi term for extinction.
And i loved its songs. Do listen. Open publicity without any cash incentives.
| There are times in office when you are just sitting and doing nothin. its not that you have nothing to do, but just think you are too lazy to do it. or possibly u can finish the work later when you really feel like doing it. Anyways the matter being I am finally in one of 'such' 'those' frame of minds now. And i remember having commented in Pud's page about writing my observations about reservations. And then the days started dragging and possibly at some point i found everyone discussing reservations. Sometimes you just don't want to do things that everyone else around is doing. But then this thing I see in the newspaper today about Manmohan Singh asking private companies to introduce affirmative action in companies. Now I do know that old age does bring senility after all the wisdom gathered over the ages drains out. And possibly some have really forgot all the economics they themseleves taught over the years and rather turned into a hardcore politician. I feel my mother's saying " je lanka te she ei ravan" -- which translated to english sounds something liek " whoever is in lanka is Ravan". I though have sympathies with Ravan for being equated with such modern day devils. and talking of reservation Mr Singh, how many times do you want to give the person the benefit of reservation to make the society more equitable. First propel him to IIT, then to IIM or IAS and finally force some company to hire him. Now this is really sweet of you to be propelling the same person again and again until he really blazes off like a shooting star. And we all are equal then. Anyways the thing that irks me most is the same person using the benefits of reservation at every stage of his career. Use it once like a lottery ticket and move on. The other nitty gritties are too boring.
Talking of which I'll say yesterday hogged like hell. Lunch had outside at a good place. And then evening went for this royal bengali food festival at the chancery. For blore folks who wounldn't mind exlporing try it out. It's pretty good. Just was too oily compared to authentic Bengali food. Anyways when away from home -- no complaints. It closes on 23rd. so will possibly check it out once again.
PS: thanks to Aamir media noticed something as NBA. Or they would have been still busy sleeping with some damn model after the fashion week party.
| How many of us know that a couple of Narmada Bachao Andolan activists and Megha Patkar have been fasting for the last 6 days in Jantar Mantar? On the contrary most of us know that Carol Gracias's gown did the slip act on the ramp. And isn't it obvious. A pair of boobies are anyday more titillating -- even for the 'straight' female mind. And who cares for 2.5 lakh starving and dying villagers in some faraway land when I have my cosy drawing room and the bullshit DJ prancing to my idiotic menial whims. Stories which occupy the media space are ones which sell skin, raw sex, or in some way light up someone's wildest sexual fantasies. Soon we will have Playboy, Cosmpolitan and the mainstream newspaper -- all in one. The newspaper will though be used more for midnight erections. It's time some sane journalists start writing about real news and not some mad cheap gimmick in some far off corner or crap about which Bollywood star screwed whom. An IG thinking himself as Radha and abhishek-aishwarya marrying --if that interests you for a week, there is something surely amiss. The vicious cirlce of wealth, power and glamour.
Anyways do try to find out any few articles you can manage to find of the ongoing fast in Jantar Mantar and get to know some bits of the issue.
